Get to know Jess and (h)Andy

Sure, we look fancy here, but we love getting our hands dirty.

Our Story

Married since 2010, Jessica and Andy owned a successful dog daycare for many years before starting their organizing and handyman business. 

 

Jessica’s ran day-to-day operations at the daycare. And with over 100 cage-free dogs and multiple staff members, you can imagine how important staying organized would be.  Prior to the daycare, Jessica managed the writing and user experience team at Credit Karma, which essentially means organizing website content (notice a pattern?).

Andy left his career as an advertising copywriter to become master of all things handy at the daycare. In a 100-year-old warehouse full of dogs, there was no shortage of projects. Whether it was building play structures, putting up fences, installing sump pumps, designing and building a self-service bathing station, or anything else that popped up along the way, Andy’s work was always focused on durability and safety.

After selling the business, it was only natural for Andy to jump right into full-time handiwork. While Jessica loves assisting him on projects, she realized her natural tendency to organize and declutter spaces was the perfect complement to Andy’s building talents, and An Organizer and a Handyman was born.
